Medical Cannabis Education and Support

My journey with Cannabis began in February 2018.  I had just had my ovaries removed and I was struggling.  Surgical Menopause is NO JOKE! As I was waking up from anesthesia I instantly began having hot flashes.  Very soon after, like within 4-6 weeks, I was experiencing bone pain, severe joint pain and swelling, insomnia, headaches, tears, tears and more tears😥. I thought I was going crazy. What the heck! I knew Menopause was bad, but I had no idea it could be this bad! So, my trusted advisor, my oncologist, suggested medicinal cannabis and gave me a script.  I was ready to try anything and I researched and attacked learning about cannabis medicine in depth. I realised early on in my journey that I was on my own to figure out how to get it to work for me optimally. I was on my own for dosing and method of intake. At the same time I was coaching my Mom through almost the same stuff. After months and months of work I was finally getting the hang of it.  While I was going through it, I became a bit of an expert -mostly because I was defending my position on the plants medicine. Yes, there is still stigma out there, of course there is! I was slowing pulling down the walls of stigma for myself and for my family. While going through all of this I was tracking and noticing how I was feeling. It was an intuitive decision to track everything and I started my own pain journal.  I thought to myself, I wonder if this might help other people, this idea of tracking and noticing? And here we are…..

How Can a Cannabis Educator Help You?

As an Educator I am committed to supporting your choices with this medicine.  If I don't have an answer for you, I will find it - that is, if it exists! This is the tricky part of this medicine - figuring out what works and what doesn't.  This is where we will spend most of our time together. There are many ways I can support you.  Be sure to ask!

Most importantly I am here for you!

Let me introduce myself.  My name is Stephanie Massey and I am a Mom of two teens, a wife of 23 years and a Breast Cancer Survivor.  I live in Scugog township and was raised in Uxbridge Ontario. I love small town Ontario and all that it offers.

I am currently trained and certified as a Yoga and Meditation Teacher as well as a Medical Cannabis Educator.  My training is based on Canadian Medical Cannabis and the changes we have seen in this Market over the last few years.  My scope is completely focused on the Education and support surrounding Medical Cannabis. I am very passionate about safety with this medicine.  Low and slow is the motto. I am an independent educator, therefore I do not have any large companies paying my bills.

I DO NOT prescribe, provide exact dosing or diagnose! Of course not, that is what trained Doctors or Nurses do!

I provide EDUCATION.  Knowledge is power and in many cases this knowledge of this medicine can be very helpful and effective.  Helping people find relief from suffering is my passion.

My experience with Medical Cannabis has been very effective, however, once I got my prescription, I was then left on my own to “figure out” how to use it optimally.  My goal was not to get high, but to treat many issues I was having post-cancer treatment. Hot Flashes from surgical menopause, Neuropathy from chemo and PTSD from my Cancer DX (this one showed up 2-3 years after my DX). I have been treating these things with many tools, including Cannabis.

Important info: I am trained, I am insured and I have lived experience.  I can help.

Currently, I offer 1 hour Education Talks including  Q and A.  I talk about the history of Cannabis as medicine, prohibition, the Canadian Landscape of this medicine.  I talk about the differences between CBD and THC and Indica, Hybrid and Sativa.  I talk about my experience as a Medical Cannabis Patient, as well as being a Cancer Patient in this Country.

I talk about Stigma and my history of belief with this medicine and how I now am an advocate for the relief of suffering with this medicine.  However, I do understand it is not for everyone. The beauty of this is that we are now able to make this choice for ourselves in Canada.

Investment:

1.5 hour Cannabis Education talk including Q and A: $200*

Small groups under 15ppl are appreciated.

*for long distances of travel, there will be a travel fee
